
PM Shehbaz stresses urgent completion of Diamer Bhasha Dam
ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has directed the relevant authorities to expedite the completion of the Diamer Bhasha Dam by removing all obstacles.
Presiding over a meeting on the construction of the Diamer Bhasha Dam and broader water resource issues, the prime minister highlighted the importance of building new dams to boost water storage capacity, ensure consistent agricultural water supply, and mitigate flood risks.
He reiterated that achieving self-sufficiency requires both increased water storage and the efficient use of water resources to support energy and agriculture.
The prime minister directed prioritizing the completion of projects like Diamer Bhasha Dam to establish an effective system for energy production and abundant water storage.
Earlier, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif stated that the recent positive economic indicators are evidence of the correctness of the government’s policies.
