Oppo is getting ready to launch its new Reno 16 series, and the upcoming smartphones are already creating excitement with powerful cameras, large batteries, and premium features.
Oppo will officially unveil the Reno 16 and Reno 16 Pro in China on May 25. Before the launch, a short hands on video showing both devices surfaced online. The leaked video gave fans an early look at the new smartphones and their updated design. GIZBOT reports suggest the Reno 16 series will bring major upgrades in performance, cameras, and battery life.
The Oppo Reno 16 is expected to feature a compact 6.32-inch flat OLED display. Meanwhile, the Reno 16 Pro could arrive with a larger 6.78-inch LTPO OLED screen.
Both devices are likely to support 1.5K resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. As a result, users may get smoother scrolling and better viewing quality.
In addition, the smartphones are expected to include premium metal frames. They may also come with IP68 and IP69 ratings for water and dust resistance.
Under the hood, the Reno 16 is rumored to use the MediaTek Dimensity 8550 chipset. On the other hand, the Reno 16 Pro may feature the more powerful Dimensity 9500s processo.
Both smartphones are expected to offer LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.1 storage for faster performance and quick app loading.

Battery life could be another major upgrade in the new lineup. The standard Reno 16 is expected to pack a 6,700mAh battery. Meanwhile, the Reno 16 Pro may include a massive 7,000mAh silicon-carbon battery.
Both devices are also rumored to support 80W wired fast charging and 50W wireless charging. This means users may be able to charge their phones quickly and use them for longer periods.
