Will there be a ‘Ted Lasso’ Season 5: Everything known so far following season 4 finale

Comments from the cast suggest there is still interest in continuing the Apple TV comedy after its Season 4 finale

Ted Lasso Season 5 has not been officially confirmed, but comments from the cast suggest there is still interest in continuing the Apple TV comedy after its Season 4 finale.

Apple TV has reportedly not renewed the series for a fifth season as of the Season 4 finale. However, the finale was described as a “Season Finale” rather than a “Series Finale”, leaving room for the story to continue.

The cast has also discussed possible directions for future episodes.

Speaking to Decider, Tanya Reynolds, who plays Alice Chilton, said, “We have no idea. There’s obviously so much potential, so many possibilities…”

Reynolds and Abbie Hern, who plays Gemma, also shared an idea for exploring their characters’ history. “We’d be so interested in a flashback to our Arsenal days,” Reynolds said. “We can get to the bottom of the beef.”

Hern added that she would like to see Alice play football, saying, “I want to see Alice in a kit, though. Just for a minute.”

Annette Badland, who played Mae, also suggested that her character could potentially return despite her Season 4 death. “You never know. There is a film called It’s a Wonderful Life, where an angel keeps popping back. Maybe Mae can pop back up as a sort of conscience,” Badland told Decider.

Jason Sudeikis has previously indicated that he revived Ted Lasso with another three-season arc in mind.

There is currently no Season 5 release date. If the series is renewed and production proceeds without major delays, new episodes could arrive in late 2027 or between 2028 and 2029.
