Widespread rain brings relief across Pakistan amid Karachi’s clear skies

Karachi: According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) Karachi is expected to experience clear weather conditions throughout the day, accompanied by intermittent strong winds.

Over the past 24 hours the minimum temperature recorded in the city was 24°C while the current temperature stands at 27°C.

The PMD further stated that the maximum temperature in Karachi today is likely to range between 30°C and 32°C.

Winds are currently blowing from the southwest at a speed of 24 km/h, adding a slight breeze to the otherwise warm conditions.

Meanwhile, humidity levels have been recorded at 78%, indicating a relatively moist atmosphere.

Nationwide Weather Update: 

Northern Pakistan: Early morning showers in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, and Murree, along with cool winds, have created a refreshing atmosphere. The Margalla Hills are enveloped in clouds, delighting residents with the pleasant weather.

Central Pakistan: In Jhelum, intermittent rainfall continues across the city and nearby areas, causing power outages due to tripped feeders. Officials have warned of possible damage to standing wheat crops, with rain expected to persist over the next 24 hours.

Sheikhupura experienced thunderstorms, bringing down temperatures noticeably. Power disruptions affected multiple areas, and agricultural experts have issued warnings about potential damage to wheat crops. PMD forecasts more rainfall in the coming days.

In Sargodha’s Chak 126 SB, Sillanwali heavy rainfall led to the collapse of a small dam, resulting in flood-like conditions in surrounding areas. Rescue teams swiftly responded, ensuring no human casualties, although one calf was reported dead. Local residents have demanded the removal of illegal structures contributing to flooding.

Mianwali, including Kundian, Chashma, Komar Mushani, and the Khattak belt, received rainfall ranging from light to heavy, cooling the weather significantly. The rain spell is expected to continue until April 9.

Kamalia saw thunderstorms accompanied by cool winds, with power supply temporarily disrupted. Authorities warn that standing wheat crops could suffer damage, and further rainfall is predicted.

Khanpur experienced heavy rainfall, raising concerns over wheat crops and mango orchards. Rain is expected to continue until April 8.

Rojhan faced torrential rain and thunderstorms, increasing the risk of hill torrents and flash flooding from the Koh-e-Suleiman range. Low-lying areas were inundated due to the downpours.
