Patrick Clancy, though, is on record as having forgiven Lindsay Clancy for killing their three children.
But he has filed for divorce from her roughly a year after the devastating incident.
Now, he has married again.
On this, Sara Haines, one of the panelists on The View, lamented that he did not remain in wedlock with Lindsay.
“He talks about forgiving her, but how did the marital love end so quickly?”
“I would hope my husband wouldn’t move right along,” she said.
Meanwhile, in a latest interview with 60 Minutes, Patrick opened up about his grief of losing his children.
He has also weighed in on how accountability can happen when the person is struggling with a mental health illness.
But he said both compassion and accountability can happen at the same time.
With him recognising Lindsay’s mental health challenges, it does not necessarily mean, as Patrick said, “that doesn’t mean no accountability.”
“I think we can find a compassionate way to deal with these tragedies, and that doesn’t mean no accountability,” he said.
Patrick continued, “It just means that we recognise the suffering and the stigma, and we try to find a way to prevent this from happening in the future.”
“That’s always how I’ve looked at it,” he shared.
Patrick also revealed that he has spoken to several postpartum psychosis victims and, in his view, “It doesn’t discriminate; it can happen to anyone. It’s best detected early.”
The interview with 60 Minutes took place at a park that is dedicated to the children in Duxbury.
“My kids are buried here, and I still have family here, but it’s hard,” Patrick said. “It’s difficult coming back to this town, even though I loved it so much.”
Meanwhile, Lindsay’s next hearing will take place on Sept. 29.
