Water crisis eases in Karachi after successful PRCC line repair

Karachi: The Karachi Water and Sewerage Corporation has successfully completed the repair of the PRCC pipeline, leading to the gradual restoration of water supply in several parts of the city.

A spokesperson for the utility stated that following the completion of the repair work water distribution has started resuming in Korangi, Malir, Chanesar, Jinnah, Saddar, Clifton, DHA, and other affected localities, with conditions steadily improving.

He further explained that the city’s daily water demand stands at 650 million gallons, while approximately 610 million gallons are currently being supplied, leaving a shortfall of around 40 million gallons, which is being worked on through ongoing efforts.

According to the spokesperson recent power failures impacted key installations at the Dhabeji pumping station temporarily disrupting the water supply system and affecting multiple areas of the city.

He added that the situation has now improved significantly, and restoration of water supply is continuing in phases across Karachi.
