The Rings of Power’ season 3 sets premiere date

Amazon Prime Video is set to ignite Middle-earth once again as The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power returns with its explosive third season, premiering on November 11.

The announcement came during Amazon’s high-profile upfront event in New York where the platform also dropped a spine-chilling first look at Sauron (Charlie Vickers), now seen in a dark, ominous crown signaling the rise of pure darkness in Middle-earth.

Set in the legendary Second Age thousands of years before The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings, the series plunges into a world on the brink of chaos where power is forged, alliances are tested, and evil begins to take shape.

Season 3 is expected to unfold in the aftermath of Season 2 during the blazing height of the War of the Elves and Sauron. In this brutal chapter the Dark Lord tightens his grip on destiny itself as he moves closer to creating the One Ring the ultimate weapon designed to dominate all life and bend Middle-earth to his will.

Amazon has confirmed that the saga continues to dominate globally. Season 1 remains its biggest-ever TV launch, while Season 2 ranks among its top-performing returning series. The franchise has already captivated more than 185 million viewers worldwide, fueling massive growth for Prime Video.

Amazon’s Head of Global Television, Peter Friedlander, described the series as a defining example of cinematic storytelling at global scale, adding that its overwhelming fan response proves its unstoppable momentum heading into the new season.

Created by showrunners J.D. Payne and Patrick McKay, alongside an executive production team including Lindsey Weber and director Charlotte Brändström, the series continues under Amazon MGM Studios.

As shadows deepen and war intensifies, Season 3 promises a gripping descent into power, betrayal, and the terrifying forging of the One Ring where the fate of Middle-earth hangs by a thread.
