Taylor Swift paid $160K wedding permit fee, says Mamdani

Swift and Kelce also donated $26 million to several charitable organizations.

Pop superstar Taylor Swift paid more than $160,000 for a New York City permit to hold her wedding to NFL star Travis Kelce at Madison Square Garden, according to New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani.

Mamdani said Swift covered the full cost of the permit, including expenses related to the city’s response and security for the event.

The wedding took place over two days in Manhattan and attracted hundreds of celebrity guests. The large event required an extensive police presence, with several streets around Madison Square Garden temporarily closed to manage security and traffic.

City officials said the permit fee included costs associated with public safety and event management.

The total cost of the wedding has not been officially confirmed. However, Forbes previously estimated that the celebration cost more than $20 million. Before their wedding, Swift and Kelce also donated $26 million to several charitable organizations.

The high profile ceremony became one of the biggest celebrity events of the year, drawing widespread public attention and significant security planning.
