Taylor Swift makes surprise $50,000 donation to injured mother after daring rescue
Taylor Swift became a ray of hope for a brave woman who put her life at risk to save victims.
The Life of a Showgirl artist donated $50,000 to the courageous woman, named Ashley Taunton, after she was hit by a car while helping other people injured in a prior accident.
A GoFundMe page was set up to help the mother-of-three, who faced major injuries after a vehicle struck her, requiring two major surgeries.
The description on the donation page read, “On Saturday, July 18th, during a severe rainstorm on I-95, Ashley did what she always does: she put others before herself.
“Seeing someone in urgent need after a car accident, she pulled over to help. As [Taunton’s husband Joe] so perfectly puts it, it was just ‘Ashley doing Ashley things.’
“While she was assisting another vehicle hydroplaned and came hurtling directly toward them.
“In a split-second act of pure bravery, Ashley pushed the other person out of harm’s way, taking the brunt of the impact herself.”
Ashley then shared that Taylor has made the generous donation and sent a supportive message to her.
“Wishing you the best recovery possible and sending love to your family!” the popstar’s message read.
Taking to her Insta Stories, Ashley expressed her gratitude, writing “This is absolutely mind-blowing and so very humbling,” along with a screenshot of Taylor’s message.
“@taylorswift you are a beautiful soul I wish I could hug you IRL. Maybe the next time your [sic] in Westerly I live 20 minutes away,” Ashley further noted.
Inspired by Taylor’s move, Swifties also rushed to help Ashley and donated to the GoFundMe.
