When Shakira lit up the FIFA World Cup Final halftime show, her ex, Gerard Piqué, was in the stands.
Given the history between them, the Colombian singer statistically has the one-up against her former partner.
That is, the Waka Waka hitmaker has more World Cup appearances than Spanish defender Piqué.
Back to the Queen of the World Cup, in a latest interview with People, she weighed in on the 2026 barnburner tournament’s unforgettable moments.
“This World Cup has been so special for so many reasons,” she told the outlet.
Uniting the fans under 2026 FIFA’s anthem, Shakira – who sang it – said, “I loved seeing the reaction to the song ‘Dai Dai’ and how it brought people together, seeing people do the choreo and celebrate together with it.”
Apart from the music, the singer is a die-hard fan of football icon Lionel Messi.
Her love for him was quite open in a post the musician shared before the final on Instagram.
“What @lionelmessi is doing is beyond extraordinary!” the post read.
“It shows the values of a man who is deeply committed and disciplined, challenging time and all odds. Proving that a person is not defined by age or what others say,” Shakira capped off.
