Second phase of HSSC exams commence

KARACHI: The second phase of the Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSSC) examinations under the Board of Intermediate Education Karachi(BIEK) has officially begun.

Exams are being held for students of 11th and 12th grades in Commerce (Regular and Private) and Arts (Regular and Private) groups. This phase of the examinations will continue until July 2, 2025.

Over 82,000 male and female students are participating in the exams, which are being conducted in both morning and evening shifts.

The morning shift, running from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM, includes exams for Arts Regular, Arts Private, Special Candidates, and Diploma in Physical Education.

Today the second year English Normal and English Advance papers are being held, which are key subjects for many students.

For the evening shift, exams are from 2 PM to 5 PM, focusing on Commerce Regular and Commerce Private Papers. More than 57,000 candidates are participating in these afternoon sessions. To manage this large scale examination process.

A total of 129 examination centers have been set up across the city for both morning and evening shifts. Specifically, 145 centers are being used in the morning and 84 centers are set up for the evening.

It’s also important to note that 26 of these examination centers in both shifts are considered very sensitive requiring heightened security and oversight.
