The Jordanian royal family has welcomed twin baby girls. Her Royal Highness Princess Iman bint Abdullah II and her husband, Jameel Alexander Thermiotis, have welcomed their daughters, increasing their family from three members to five.
The Royal Hashemite Court officially announced the birth and congratulated Princess Iman and Jameel on the arrival of their twin daughters.
The announcement also means King Abdullah II and Queen Rania have become grandparents to four children.
The Royal Hashemite Court said, “The Royal Hashemite Court is pleased to announce that Her Royal Highness Princess Iman bint Abdullah II and Mr. Jameel Alexander Thermiotis were blessed with twin baby girls on Friday, August 14, 2026.”
Queen Rania had previously shared news about her daughter’s pregnancy during the summer through an excited post on the family’s social media accounts featuring Iman, Jameel and their daughter.
The royal family had initially announced that they were expecting one child, making the arrival of twin girls a surprise.
The Royal Hashemite Court has not yet announced the names of the two baby girls. Their names are expected to be shared later on the royal family’s social media page.
Iman and Jameel, who are both 29, married in a ceremony in Amman in March 2023. They now have three daughters, all under the age of 2.
Their eldest daughter, Princess Amina, was born on Feb. 16, 2025, and is now officially a big sister to the newborn twins.
The arrival of the twins adds to the happiness King Abdullah II and Queen Rania have experienced as grandparents. Following the birth of Prince Abdullah and Princess Rajwa’s first child on Aug. 3, 2024, the royal family has now welcomed two more grandchildren. King Abdullah II and Queen Rania are now grandparents to four granddaughters.
