Prince William tried to nudge Travis Kelce out of the famous group photo they shared with Taylor Swift in 2024.
The Prince of Wales, 44, shared the story on The Graham Norton Show on Friday, talking about a backstage selfie he took with Taylor Swift, 36, and Kelce, 37.
His two eldest children, Prince George and Princess Charlotte, were also in the photo. It was taken in June 2024 at one of Swift’s Eras Tour shows at Wembley Stadium in London.
The selfie was the first time Swift and Kelce appeared in a public photo together. They had started dating in the summer of 2023. Norton, 63, asked if William knew how big a moment it was. Prince William admitted he had no idea at the time. He then teased Kelce.
The royal couple’s official Instagram account also shared a photo from that night. It showed Swift with the royals, but not Kelce. The caption thanked Swift for a “great evening.”
Prince William has been friends with Swift for more than a decade. In 2013, she performed at a charity evening for Centrepoint, a homelessness charity he supports. He joined her on stage with Jon Bon Jovi to sing Livin’ on a Prayer.
Prince William has also become friends with Kelce and appeared on Kelce’s podcast, New Heights, in an episode released on July 3.
That was the day Swift and Kelce married in New York City. Prince William had hinted that he might attend the wedding, but it was later reported that he would not.nimrah
Swift and Kelce did have a private meeting with Prince William and Princess Catherine in London before the wedding. It is believed to be the first time Princess Catherine met them.
