Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have reportedly been searching for a home in a well-known countryside area in England, close to King Charles.
A royal commentator has said Prince Harry had been planning to look for a home earlier this year, potentially in the Cotswolds, near King Charles and Queen Camilla’s residence.
The commentator explained that Prince Harry knows the area well, since he spent much of his childhood there with his father and brother.
“I was told by a friend of Harry‘s earlier this year that he was going to go house hunting and potentially in the Cotswolds near Highgrove,” royal commentator Tom Sykes told Page Six, referring to King Charles III and Queen Camilla’s Highgrove House residence.
Prince Harry has spoken fondly about the English countryside in the past, and he and Meghan previously rented a home in the Cotswolds shortly after their wedding in 2018.
If the couple settles in that area, it would put some distance between them and Prince William and Kate Middleton, who live in Windsor.
Reports suggest Prince Harry and Meghan plan to live in a private, non-royal residence in the UK. The Cotswolds is known as an affluent area that has attracted several well-known public figures over the years.
Sources confirmed that Prince Harry and Meghan plan to move back to the UK for an extended period later this month. The move is reportedly intended to help their children build closer relationships with family members, especially King Charles.
A source also revealed that Charles was informed of the couple’s plans only days ago. Meanwhile, tension between Prince Harry and his brother Prince William reportedly remains unresolved, with Prince William still not speaking to him.
Their relationship has remained strained since Prince Harry and Meghan stepped back from royal duties in 2020.
