Practical Magic 2 opened at No. 1 at the North American box office, but the Warner Bros. sequel delivered a softer-than-expected debut with $30 million from 4,146 theatres.
The film also earned $16 million across 77 international markets, taking its global opening to $46 million.
The sequel, starring Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman, arrived with a reported production budget of $75 million, excluding global marketing costs.
Its domestic opening is similar to the inflation-adjusted performance of the 1998 original, which debuted with $13 million, equivalent to about $27 million today.

Variety reported that opening crowds were primarily older women, suggesting strong interest among established fans but limited appeal among younger audiences.
Practical Magic 2 also ended Spider-Man: Brand New Day’s six-week run at No. 1.
The superhero sequel fell to second place with $8.6 million, bringing its North American total to $935 million and worldwide earnings to $2.4 billion.
The wider box office was down about 43% from the same weekend in 2025, when Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle opened with $70.6 million.
