Cloudy skies and light drizzle brought relief to Karachi on Sunday, Aug. 23, as scattered drizzle fell across several areas, including Baldia Town, Sher-Shah, Gulbai and Lyari, during the morning.
The Pakistan Meteorological Department said the city recorded a temperature of about 30°C while humid conditions continued under mostly cloudy skies.
The cloudy conditions also changed the overall feel of the city. Instead of strong sunshine, residents saw dark clouds covering much of the sky, creating a cooler and more comfortable atmosphere in different parts of Karachi. The light showers added to the pleasant weather and provided temporary relief from the heat.
Karachi often experiences warm and humid conditions during this time of year. However, Sunday’s cloud cover and light rain reduced the intensity of the heat in some areas. The change in weather also created a pleasant view across the city, with dark clouds spreading across the sky for much of the day.
Despite the temporary relief, humidity remained high, meaning the weather could still feel warmer than the recorded temperature. The combination of clouds, moisture and light winds kept conditions comfortable in some areas but humid overall.
