Director General of Immigration and Passports, Muhammad Ali Randhawa, has announced that passports will be delivered directly to citizens’ homes from July 1, aiming to reduce long queues and repeated visits to passport offices.
The announcement was made during his visit to various passport sections, where he met citizens, listened to their concerns and directed officials to resolve complaints immediately.
Randhawa instructed courier companies to ensure safe and timely delivery of passports under strict monitoring. He said the new home delivery system would operate transparently and save citizens from making unnecessary trips to passport offices.
He added that improving passport services and making them more convenient for the public remains a top priority, with more reforms expected in the future.
Separately, Randhawa held a meeting with Muhammad Munir Afsar, chairman of NADRA, where both sides agreed to enhance cooperation between the two institutions.
During the meeting, officials decided to introduce QR code-based passport fee payments through digital platforms including JazzCash, EasyPaisa and 1LINK, allowing citizens to pay fees more conveniently.
Officials said the initiative is part of broader efforts to expand digital government services. Discussions also focused on administrative matters, digital reforms, speeding up the data entry process and reviewing the department’s ongoing development projects.
