Pakistan’s diplomatic efforts for peace in the Middle East were highlighted in the British Parliament, where a Member of Parliament commended the country’s key role.
British MP Muhammed Afzal stated that Pakistan is playing a “leadership role” in efforts to ease tensions between the United States and Iran and to prioritize peace.
He commended the efforts of Pakistan’s leadership, including PM Shehbaz Sharif, DPM Ishaq Dar, and Field Marshal Asim Munir, in facilitating U.S.-Iran mediation.
He asked the British Prime Minister how the United Kingdom is supporting Pakistan’s initiatives aimed at achieving lasting and sustainable peace in the Middle East.
The remarks come as Pakistan’s mediation and diplomatic efforts are being closely observed globally in the context of ongoing regional tensions.
