
BOSTON: Pakistani athletes delivered an impressive performance at the prestigious Boston Marathon 2026, showcasing their endurance and talent on the global stage.
A total of 13 runners from Pakistan and the overseas Pakistani community successfully completed one of the world’s most renowned marathons held on Monday.
Karachi-based police constable Muhammad Amjad Ali led the national contingent, finishing the race in 2 hours, 42 minutes, and 45 seconds to become the fastest Pakistani runner in this year’s event.
Competing in his first World Major Marathon, Amjad expressed satisfaction with his performance, noting that the challenging course with its uphill and downhill stretches tested his endurance.
US-based Syed Hamza secured the second position among Pakistani participants with a time of 2:51:06, followed by Nizar Niyani, who clocked 3:01:44.
Norwegian-Pakistani Fasih Saleh achieved a personal best of 3:10:36, completing his journey as a Six Star Finisher in the Abbott World Marathon Majors. He credited the Pakistani running community for their continued encouragement and support.

Several other runners also delivered notable performances, including UK-based Shehzada Hussain and Maheen Sheikh, who secured a personal best, as well as Basheera Anjum.
Islamabad’s Bilal Ahsan completed the marathon in 3:23:53 after recovering from a knee injury, earning his Six Star Finisher status.
He described the experience as remarkable, emphasizing that completing the race was more important than timing following his recovery.
Karachi’s Nousherwan Ali (4:15:33) and Dr. Jehanzaib Mughal (5:01:39) also joined the ranks of Six Star Finishers, marking significant milestones in their marathon journeys.
The strong showing by Pakistani runners at the Boston Marathon highlights the growing presence and competitiveness of the country’s endurance athletes on the international stage.
