Nick Offerman is celebrating a career milestone.

The actor earned two Emmy nominations years after he once believed that his life had already reached its peak.

In an interview with People, Offerman admitted the recognition still feels surprising after spending years simply being grateful for getting acting jobs.

Offerman, 56, received supporting acting nominations this year for his roles in Margo’s Got Money Troubles and Death by Lightning.

He said, “It’s pretty kooky.”

“I’ve been working for a long time, and to get a couple of pats on the back is pretty wild. I was happy just getting jobs, so then to get any kind of commendation on top of that feels like I better keep minding my manners,” Offerman added.

Furthermore, Offerman said, “I thought my life had peaked” when he was guest-starring on shows like ER and Deadwood, married to actress Megan Mullally and enjoying his woodworking hobby.

“So now that I’m just even working regularly as an actor, getting to work on great writing, is wild to me. It just keeps me grateful and minding my manners and trying to generate kindness wherever,” he added.

Nick Offerman also talked about his plans for the acceptance speech, saying, “Personally, I’m peeved when people don’t prepare some remarks. I just think that’s irresponsible.”

“That just never sat well with me. No matter what, I always want to make sure I have something prepared. I’m kind of a first- draft writer, so I’ll probably do it in the car on the way to the event,” he added.
