LAHORE: The opening day of the Lahore Race Club’s Summer Meeting 2025 provided thrilling moments and surprising finishes, with favourite Little Master stealing the spotlight by comfortably clinching the Summer Cup.
The day’s action began with favourite Mafnood JR securing victory over Jhalthal in a closely contested finish. Abdullah Love surprised the field by securing third place, adding an unexpected twist to the opener.
In the second race, a major upset unfolded as the unknown runner Chika Rika surged to victory, fending off Lucky Macs, who also shocked the field by taking second place. The favourite, Pocket Power, had to settle for third in a surprising turn of events.
The Summer Cup, the day’s main event, saw Little Master live up to his billing, dominating his rivals from start to finish. Apple Of My Eye delivered a surprise by finishing second while Absolutely Not added further excitement by unexpectedly taking third place.
The Eid Cup produced one of the day’s standout performances as Wynx, originally predicted for a place, acceded to expectations to secure the title. KitKat, initially viewed as a possible fluke, finished a commendable second, while Golden Heart sprang a surprise by claiming third position.
In the fifth race, favourite Samore City justified the confidence placed in it by running a commanding race to secure victory. Sardar Bey delivered a shock by finishing second, and the fluke entry Son Of Sultan took third place. The final race of the day also produced a surprise as Desert Parri, who was expected to secure second, powered to victory. Favourite Luckvir followed in second place, while Paddington defied expectations to finish third.
