Under the Ministry of Energy and Power Division’s directives, Chief Executive LESCO Engineer Shahid Haider is successfully overseeing an anti-electricity theft campaign. In the past 24 hours, 125 connections across the region are found involved in electricity theft. FR applications are being filed against all electricity thieves in respective police stations, with 65 applications registered and 2 accused arrested. Among the intercepted connections, 4 are commercial and 121 are domestic. All connections are currently disconnected, and they face charges for 123,100 units with a detection bill totaling Rs.

In the ongoing operation against electricity thieves, significant commercial consumers were discovered engaged in theft. All of them had their connections disconnected and were charged with detection units. A detection bill of 24,000 units was applied to a connection in the Bhati-gate area, another of 7,605 units in the same area, and a similar bill of 7,605 units in the Chah Miran area. Additionally, a connection in the Data Nagar area received a detection bill of 7,000 units. This operation has been ongoing for 86 days. Currently, there are 32,505 suspects identified for electricity theft. Among them, applications have been filed against 32,122 suspects, cases have been registered against 31,128 suspects, and 15,420 suspects have been arrested. A total of 54,741,728 units have been charged to these electricity thieves, with a corresponding value in rupees.

The operations are following given instructions, and Chief Executive Engineer Shahid Haider is personally overseeing them, as stated by the Lesco chief. The extensive operation continues without discrimination until theft is entirely eradicated. Those involved in electricity theft, including LESCO officers and employees supporting them, are also being held accountable during the operation.
