Kanye West, aside from being a rabble-rouser and ingenious musician, has a talent for being prescient, according to Hit-Boy.

A record producer, who co-produced Ni**as in Paris, and Ye, who is one of the lead rappers on the track, told him the track would transform his career.

While the song was in the works, Hit-Boy recalls a conversation with the rap icon, sharing that he was working on a series of songs at the time and that his focus had been on other tracks rather than only on the 2011 hit.

“It’s crazy because the whole time I was out in New York making those songs, Hov was coming through, and I was working on everybody’s projects.”

“We never even talked about that beat. We were focused on other songs. They had another track called Whole Lifetime, and they had worked on some other records of mine. I was excited about those songs,” the 39-year-old told Big Bro with Kid Cudi podcast.

Given how much deep he was in the works, Hit-Boy remembers, “I came back to California thinking about those records, but none of them ended up going anywhere.”

Months later, the record executive received arguably the compliment of his life.

That is when West told him, “Bro, this song is so crazy. When this song drops, your life is about to change.”

The prediction Ye made, Hit-Boy recounts, became reality in no time.

“When the song came on and everyone went crazy, that’s when it finally hit me: This is a different beast,” he shared.

Ni**as in Paris is considered a pivotal moment in Jay-Z and West’s barrier-breaking partnership.
