Jelly Roll has announced that he is taking a break from touring, saying he needs time to “heal.”
The country singer shared the news during his July 28 concert at Rice-Eccles Stadium in Salt Lake City, Utah. He told fans that his upcoming show in Colorado Springs would be his last for “a year or two.”
“This has truly been a lifetime experience for me,” Jelly Roll told the crowd. “I’m fixing to take some time off and heal.”
The 41-year-old, whose real name is Jason DeFord, did not explain why he was stepping away or what he meant by needing to heal.
The announcement came less than two weeks after his divorce from Bunnie Xo was finalised. The former couple ended their marriage in July after being together for nearly 10 years.
Jelly Roll’s July 28 performance was part of his Big Ass Stadium Tour Part 2 with Post Malone. He later played his final scheduled concert in Colorado Springs on July 30 alongside Justin Moore and Ashley Cooke. His official website currently lists no upcoming tour dates.
The singer filed for divorce from Bunnie Xo, whose real name is Alisa DeFord, in May, citing irreconcilable differences. After the split, he told fans that neither of them had been unfaithful.
Although the former couple initially appeared to remain on good terms, they have since unfollowed each other on Instagram.
