Is Sydney Sweeney converting to Judaism? Rosh Hashanah visit with Scooter Braun sparks rumours

Sydney Sweeney’s reported attendance at Rosh Hashanah services with her partner, music executive Scooter Braun, has fuelled online speculation about whether the actor is considering converting to Judaism.
Sweeney and Braun were reportedly seen together at a synagogue in Greenwich, Connecticut, during Rosh Hashanah services earlier this month.
However, neither has publicly confirmed the reported appearance, any plans to convert or participation in religious study.
The speculation intensified after celebrity gossip account Deuxmoi reportedly claimed that Sweeney was considering conversion.
Rosh Hashanah marks the Jewish New Year and is traditionally observed through synagogue services and family customs.
Sweeney and Braun have been romantically linked since 2025, after appearing together around Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez’s wedding celebrations in Venice in June that year.
The pair have not publicly announced an engagement, wedding date or marriage plans.
Braun has spoken publicly about his Jewish background. He was raised in a Conservative Jewish household, grew up keeping kosher and attended Camp Ramah. He has also discussed observing Shabbat with his children.
“Every Friday night we have Shabbat, no matter where we are in the world,” Braun said.
Braun also publicly marked Sweeney’s 29th birthday on September 12, describing her as “the woman who is the exception to every rule” and saying she had made “the future feel like something I can’t wait to get to”.
Sweeney has not publicly addressed the reported synagogue visit or the conversion speculation.
