Insider reveals where Ethan Slater stands with ex-wife Lilly Jay after Ariana Grande split

Ethan Slater is not getting back together with his ex-wife, Lilly Jay, despite recent speculation after his split from Ariana Grande.

A source close to Jay has said the former couple are “absolutely not” rekindling their relationship, TMZ reported. The insider also denied claims that Slater, 34, is trying to win his ex-wife back.

Instead, the source said their relationship is focused only on raising their young son together.

The update comes weeks after news broke that Slater and Grande had ended their relationship after nearly three years together. The pair reportedly split several months before the breakup became public in early June.

Grande has since reunited with her former boyfriend, Ricky Alvarez. The singer appeared to confirm the reconciliation by changing lyrics during a recent performance of Thank U, Next, giving Alvarez a public shoutout.

Slater and Grande first met while filming Wicked in 2022. Their relationship became public in July 2023, shortly after both ended their marriages. Grande was previously married to realtor Dalton Gomez. 

Before dating Grande, Slater had been with Jay for 11 years and married to her for nearly five. The former couple welcomed their first child together in 2023 before later divorcing.

In July of that year, Jay also publicly criticised Grande. “[Ariana’s] the story, really. Not a girl’s girl,” Jay told Page Six at the time. “My family is just collateral damage.”

Neither Slater nor Jay has publicly commented on the latest reconciliation rumours.
