Idina Menzel recently got candid and opened up about why she considers Frozen’s Elsa her role model.
For those unaware, the 55-year-old American actress, singer, and songwriter lent her voice to Elsa in both 2013’s Frozen (2013) and 2019’s Frozen 2. She is now preparing to voice Elsa for the third time in the forthcoming movie.
During D23 on Friday, August 14, Menzel, along with her co-stars Josh Gad and Kristen Bell, appeared at the Honda Center in Anaheim, California, to preview Frozen 3 ahead of its theatrical release.
Conversing with PEOPLE magazine at the event with her cast members, she said, “she’s a good role model for me because now she’s not apologizing for who she is. I feel like I’m getting much better into owning my power and finding that. So, she’s always been a shining example.”
When Menzel and Gad were asked if their characters have become part of their personalities, the 45-year-old American actor, singer, and comedian, who voices Olaf in Frozen, replied, “I’m least like my character in that I’m not a snowman.”
“I think we both share just a disease of whatever comes to our head, our mouth doesn’t stop us. We just have no off button — just say it out loud,” the Beauty and the Beast actor quipped.
Sharing her take during the conversation, Bell said, “Anna has a similar thing in that I am probably more like Anna in many ways than almost any other character I’ve played. Wearing my heart on my sleeve, jumping into action, probably being pretty codependent and talking before I think.”
“Maybe that’s where Olaf learned it from,” Gad jokingly added.
It is pertinent to mention that Frozen 3 is scheduled to be released in theatres on November 24, 2027.
