Klum has become known for her elaborate Halloween outfits, turning into recognisable characters and unusual creatures
Heidi Klum marked the 25th anniversary of her annual Halloween party on October 31 by arriving in a realistic severed human hand costume, continuing her tradition of elaborate transformations.
The supermodel attended the milestone celebration at Cathédrale in New York City, where her latest look once again attracted attention.
Klum has become known for her elaborate Halloween outfits, regularly transforming herself into recognisable characters and unusual creatures.
Speaking to Variety, Klum explained her approach to creating memorable experiences through costume design. “There still needs to be people that create moments with real people … to me, it’s like a beautiful art,” she said.
She also acknowledged the temporary nature of her elaborate appearance, adding: “This is only good for the night. Tonight. Everything goes down the drain, so to speak, in the shower.”
Last year, Klum dressed as Medusa, complete with a headpiece featuring moving snakes and a trailing tail.
Her husband, Tom Kaulitz, complemented the look as an ancient Greek soldier turned to stone. A team of 15 artists worked on creating her costume.
Over the years, Klum’s Halloween transformations have included E.T., Fiona from Shrek, Jessica Rabbit and the werewolf from Michael Jackson’s “Thriller”.
She has also appeared as a peacock, butterfly and giant worm.
Beyond her Halloween celebrations, Klum continues her television career. She returned to Project Runway as host and judge for its 22nd season, alongside Nina Garcia and Law Roach.
She previously hosted the fashion competition for 16 seasons following its 2004 debut.
