
KARACHI: Gold prices in Pakistan registered a sharp increase on Monday following a significant rise in international bullion markets, traders said.
According to market rates, the price of one tola of gold climbed by Rs.4,600, taking it to Rs.477,762.
The price of 10 grams of gold also increased by Rs.3, 943, reaching Rs.409, 603.
Bullion dealers said the surge came in line with gains in the global market, where the price of gold rose by $46 per ounce to settle at $4,554.
Silver prices also recorded a notable increase in both global and local markets. Internationally, silver gained $2.36 per ounce to reach $77.86.
Following the global rise, the price of one tola of silver in local bullion markets increased by Rs236 to Rs8,270, while the price of 10 grams of silver rose by Rs203 to Rs7,090.

Earlier, Gold prices decreased in local market on Saturday in Pakistan.
According to rates issued by the All Pakistan Sarafa Gems and Jewellers Association, the prices of gold decreased in the local market on Saturday, with 24 karat gold per tola falling by Rs 2,200 to settle at Rs 473,162 compared to Rs 475,362 on the previous trading day.
Similarly, the price of 10 grams of 24 karat gold declined by Rs 1,886 to Rs 405,660, while 10 grams of 22 karat gold dropped by Rs 1,729 to Rs 371,868.
In the international market, the price of gold declined by $22 to $4,508 per ounce from $4,530.
