Former Bricks and Minifigs franchise owner speaks out over $200K Lego collection dispute

Former Bricks and Minifigs franchise owner Chrystal Gorman has spoken publicly about her legal dispute with the company following growing attention surrounding a Star Wars Lego collection reportedly worth more than $200,000.

In a TikTok video posted on May 26, the former Salem-Keizer, Oregon, franchise operator claimed the business was “illegally seized by corporate” more than a year ago.

Gorman said she and her husband had invested their life savings into the store and built “a warm and fun and inclusive environment” for customers. She also alleged she was removed from the premises “under threat of police action” without notice and without compensation.

The dispute has become increasingly public following investigative videos released by YouTuber Reckless Ben, whose coverage focused on claims involving a rare Star Wars Lego collection owned by Bryan Mansell and his family.

According to Gorman, the collection had been held under consignment at the store before ownership changes took place.

Gorman stated that she and her husband had spent more than a year attempting to settle the matter with the company while also seeking compensation for Mansell. “They have thus far shown no indication to act in good faith whatsoever,” she said.

Documents referenced in the dispute include a franchise agreement from BAM Franchising, Inc., which outlines that Bricks and Minifigs franchisees may offer “consignment services” alongside approved Lego-related retail operations and events.

Gorman also revealed that legal fees had exceeded $30,000 and confirmed a lawsuit had been filed against the company.

She urged supporters not to harass current employees started a GoFundMe for help in covering the “overwhelming legal costs required to fight this battle”.
