
TEHRAN: Chief of Army Staff (COAS) and Chief of Defence Forces (CDF), Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir is currently on an official visit to Iran, where important meetings are underway, according to Iranian media reports.
He arrived at the of Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters, where he was received by Commander Lieutenant General Abdollahi, who welcomed the Pakistani military chief upon arrival.
During the visit, Field Marshal Asim Munir held a meeting with Lieutenant General Abdollahi, where matters of mutual interest were discussed between the two sides, Iranian media reported.
The engagements are part of ongoing high-level military and strategic interactions between Pakistan and Iran, aimed at strengthening bilateral cooperation.
Earlier, Chief of Army Staff (COAS) and Chief of Defence Forces (CDF), Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir along with the delegation arrives at Tehran as part of the ongoing mediation efforts.
According to the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi is also accompanying the Field Marshal Asim Munir during the visit.
The Pakistani delegation was warmly received by Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi during its visit to Iran.
The visiting delegation will hold discussions on the ongoing diplomatic process between Iran and the United States, as well as the potential second phase of negotiations.
The visit is being viewed as an important effort aimed at reducing tensions in the region and supporting continued diplomatic engagement between the parties involved.
