The FBI has raided a mansion in Beverly Hills, California, as part of an ongoing investigation involving former Democratic congressman Eric Swalwell.

According to Fox News, federal agents searched the property on Tuesday morning, months after authorities searched Swalwell’s Washington, DC, home and seized electronic devices at San Francisco International Airport.

The earlier operation was reportedly connected to allegations of sexual misconduct. Swalwell was neither arrested nor detained.

At least five women, including a former staff member, have accused Swalwell of sexual misconduct or rape. He has denied the allegations.

Swalwell resigned from Congress in April after 13 years in office and withdrew from California’s gubernatorial race amid the controversy.

“I will fight the serious false allegations made against me. However, I must take responsibility and ownership for the mistakes I did make,” Swalwell wrote when announcing his resignation.

The former lawmaker also faced renewed scrutiny this week after the White House released declassified FBI documents concerning his relationship with Christine “Fang Fang” Fang, a suspected Chinese intelligence operative.

According to the documents, Swalwell acknowledged having “physical relations” with Fang on several occasions, with their last reported encounter in March 2015.
