CAIRO: An 83-year-old Egyptian woman, Amal Ismail Abdo, has inspired people around the world by earning a PhD in sociology, demonstrating that age is no barrier to education or achieving lifelong dreams.

According to international media reports, Amal Ismail Abdo was awarded her doctorate by the Department of Sociology at the Faculty of Arts, Mansoura University, in recognition of her research thesis. Her achievement has been widely praised as an extraordinary milestone in academic circles.

Speaking to Arab media, Abdo said that earning a PhD in her eighties sends a powerful message to those who believe advancing age prevents people from fulfilling their ambitions.
