Dolly Parton regrets not paying ‘attention’ to her health before big milestone?

Dolly Parton shared an insight into her health condition while announcing the debut of a new museum celebrating her life in Nashville.

On Friday, August 21, the 80-year-old American singer-songwriter and actress gave an interview to PEOPLE magazine, revealing that she has been through some “hard times with my health;” however, her health woes could not keep her away from work.

“I am dealing with some health issues that I just didn’t pay attention to when I was watching over Carl,” Parton told the outlet, alluding to her late husband Carl Thomas Deen, who died at the age of 60 on Monday, March 3, 2025.

The Powerful Woman songstress was “down for several months with female issues” in the early 1980s, so she is well aware of how to navigate life while facing health scares.

Parton explained, “It’s not like I haven’t been through hard times with my health. But I think because we live in a 24/7 world with social media, everything gets magnified in ways it wasn’t years ago.”

“I used to joke that I was the Queen of the Tabloids, but now I guess I can say I’m the Queen of Social Media AI! Seriously, though, even though I’m still healin’, I’m still workin.’” she stated.

It is pertinent to mention that Dolly Parton is engaged in giving fans an altogether new musical experience and she and her team have been working with companies that create “avatar performances” and they are still in the “early stages of development.”
