Streamer DeenTheGreat has been charged with felony robbery and misdemeanor battery in Miami following an alleged incident on a yacht, with the content creator facing up to 15 years in prison if convicted.
Miami prosecutors filed the charges against the 25-year-old streamer, whose real name is Nurideen Shabazz, in connection with an alleged altercation that took place on May 27. The case was first reported by TMZ.
The charges stem from a dispute involving a woman who told police that Shabazz became physically aggressive after a verbal disagreement.
She alleged that he removed her from the yacht after other men attempted to speak with her despite allegedly warning her not to interact with anyone else.
An arrest affidavit states, “The defendant is then seen putting his hands on the victim multiple times attempting to grab her phone where a struggle ensued over the taking of the phone as the victim is trying to get away from him where she could be seen cradling her body to the floor trying to stop the defendant from taking her phone.”
According to investigators, the robbery charge relates to the alleged theft of the woman’s mobile phone during the incident.
The yacht’s owner later cooperated with investigators by providing security footage.
Police documents reportedly state that the video contradicts the account Shabazz initially gave officers when they met the yacht at the dock.
Shabazz was arrested on the day of the alleged incident and released the following day on a $2,500 bond. He is scheduled to appear in court for a hearing on August 4.
The case remains before the courts, and the allegations have not been proven. Shabazz has not been convicted of the charges.
