Christian Bale says he can picture his daughter directing him one day.
The actor, 52, made the statement in an exchange with the press at the Los Angeles premiere of Madden on Wednesday.
He praised Emmeline “Luka,” his 21-year-old daughter whom he shares with wife Blažić, as “incredibly talented” as a photographer and a model, per E! News. He also lauded her “amazing creative mind.”
“I’m so bloody proud of her,” he said, adding that he would be “completely” on board with Luka directing him. He further joked that he would probably behave better for her than for anyone else, but also admitted he is “terrified.”
Luka is the eldest child of Bale and his wife, Sibi Blažić. They also have a son, Joseph, 12. Bale said he has not given his daughter advice about life in the public eye. He said he still has no idea how to handle it himself and still messes it up. He said she has a great head on her shoulders. He added that his kids are not easily impressed. “They just think I’m insane,” he said.
In Madden, Bale plays former Oakland Raiders owner Al Davis and Nicolas Cage plays NFL legend John Madden.
The film opens in select theaters on November 11. It will stream on Prime Video on November 18.
