- Despite copyright controversy, Khan maintains his unique style and lyrics.
- He claims that half of the song’s lyrics were changed, giving it a fresh identity.
Comedian-singer Chahat Fateh Ali Khan has stirred discussion once again by claiming that his version of “Bado Badi” brought him the kind of fame that legendary singer Noor Jahan and actress Mumtaz Begum never achieved with the original. Speaking on a recent Suno TV appearance, Chahat asserted that while “Bado Badi” was inspired by Noor Jahan’s 1973 classic “Akh Ladi Badi Badi”, his rendition gained massive popularity that even the original didn’t enjoy.
He acknowledged the copyright controversy surrounding his version but maintained that his style and lyrics differed enough to make it unique. According to him, about half of the song’s lyrics were changed, giving it a fresh identity.
The singer also expressed frustration that many in Pakistan’s music industry don’t recognize him as a legitimate artist. He revealed that some performers even refuse to share a stage with him. Despite this, he’s confident that after releasing 100 songs, critics will have no choice but to accept him as a real singer.
Chahat added that although Noor Jahan and Mumtaz Begum were iconic in their own right, their song didn’t bring them fame through singing, unlike the recognition he received through his viral version.
