Chad Lowe and Kim Painter’s daughter Fiona has died at 13, with her family remembering her as ‘the light of our lives’
Chad Lowe and producer Kim Painter’s daughter, Fiona Hepler Lowe, has died at the age of 13, with her family remembering her as “a loving young girl who was smart, creative, and loved to dance”.
In a statement shared with PEOPLE on September 29, the family said they were “deeply heartbroken” by Fiona’s death and described her as being deeply loved by her parents and sisters.
“We are deeply heartbroken by the loss of our beloved Fiona,” the family said.
“She was adored by her sisters and she was deeply loved by her parents,” they added. “In fact, she was the light of our lives.”
The family asked for privacy while also including information about the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline in their statement.
“Her passing is devastating for our entire family and we ask for prayers and privacy at this time. If you or someone you know is struggling with mental health, please reach out to the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline by calling or texting 988.”
Chad, 58, and Kim, 52, welcomed Fiona on November 16, 2012. She was the second of their three daughters. Their eldest daughter, Mabel Painter, is 17, while their youngest, Nixie Barbara, is 10.
In 2025, Chad shared a post marking Fiona becoming a teenager. Alongside a photograph of his daughter, he wrote, “Celebrating Fiona officially becoming a teen today!!” He added, “Keep dancing through life FiBear! Love you soooo much!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️”
Fiona’s death follows a difficult period for the family after their Pacific Palisades home was destroyed in the 2025 fires.
In February 2025, Chad shared that the family had returned to see the remains of the home where his three daughters had grown up.
“Almost a month after we evacuated our girls finally got to go back to see what’s left of their home,” he wrote. “The way they’ve handled this whole devastating experience is nothing short of remarkable. I am in awe of their spirit and resilience. Helping them navigate these tough times is my sole purpose. Being their dad is my life’s greatest joy and privilege ⭐️⭐️⭐️.”
