Beyoncé is selling a $948 wooden box for ‘B’Day’ anniversary and fans accuse singer of ‘disgusting greed’

Beyoncé has found a new way to celebrate the 20th anniversary of B’Day, and it has already given fans plenty to talk about. The singer has launched a limited edition collector’s box priced at $948.01, but there is one detail that has left shoppers stunned: the box arrives without any albums inside.

The Bey Keeper Collector’s Box was made available for preorder through Beyoncé’s official shop on September 4, the same day as her 45th birthday. Only 500 numbered boxes are being offered, giving the unusual piece a limited collector status. The price also carries a personal reference, with $948.01 representing Beyoncé’s September 4, 1981 birthday.

The wooden case is designed around the visual identity associated with Beyoncé and the world of B’Day. According to the product description, the 18 by 14 inch box is crafted from solid pine and finished with beeswax oil. It features deep green velvet lining, a faux crocodile style leather carrying strap and gold hardware.

An engraved bee appears on the lid, while Beyoncé’s name is displayed on the side. The design is intended to hold and display a collection of Beyoncé vinyl records. However, buyers will need to purchase those records separately, as the albums are explicitly excluded from the $948.01 price.

That detail quickly became the biggest talking point surrounding the release. Fans took to social media to joke about the price, with some suggesting that spending nearly $1,000 on an empty wooden case should come with an especially extravagant experience attached.
