‘Avengers: Doomsday’ preview drops during MLB World Series, featuring Marvel heroes and baseball stars

The preview aired on Friday, October 23, during the game between the Milwaukee Brewers and the Tampa Bay Rays

Marvel Studios has released a special preview of Avengers: Doomsday during Game 1 of the 2026 Major League Baseball World Series, bringing together the upcoming superhero film’s characters and several prominent baseball players.

The preview aired on Friday, October 23, during the game between the Milwaukee Brewers and the Tampa Bay Rays. Created specifically for the World Series, the promotional video features MLB stars Bryce Harper, Freddie Freeman, Jacob Misiorowski, Junior Caminero and Randy Arozarena alongside characters from the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

The footage includes a baseball scene set in the world of The Fantastic Four: First Steps, with Pedro Pascal’s Reed Richards, also known as Mister Fantastic, demonstrating his elastic abilities while preparing to throw a ceremonial first pitch. The scene features a retro-inspired setting at Ebbets Field, with Reed wearing a Brooklyn Dodgers cap.

The baseball players appear alongside the Marvel characters in the specially created sequence, blending the worlds of professional baseball and the superhero franchise. The preview also offers glimpses of familiar faces, including Chris Hemsworth’s Thor, Chris Evans’ Steve Rogers, Paul Rudd’s Scott Lang, Shuri and members of the X-Men.

Robert Downey Jr. also appears as Doctor Doom, the central threat in the upcoming film. The preview ends with Doom arriving above the baseball field, prompting Harper to tell the group, “We gotta go. Like, now.”

The appearance offers another look at the film ahead of its theatrical release, although it is a promotional preview rather than a full-length trailer. Marvel has gradually revealed details about the project, which brings together heroes from multiple realities for a confrontation with Doom.

Directed by Joe and Anthony Russo, Avengers: Doomsday will feature an extensive ensemble cast spanning the Avengers, the Fantastic Four, the Thunderbolts and characters from the original X-Men films. Downey’s return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe marks a change from his previous role as Tony Stark, with the actor now portraying the iconic villain Victor von Doom.

The film’s story is expected to involve a major threat to the multiverse. Footage and additional scenes shown during the theatrical re-release of Avengers: Endgame have offered further hints about Doom’s motivations and the danger facing the different realities.

Avengers: Doomsday is scheduled to arrive in cinemas on December 18, 2026, with the World Series preview adding to Marvel’s promotional campaign ahead of the release.
