Atiqa Odho opens up on son’s support behind her third marriage

Senior Pakistani actress Atiqa Odho has opened up about her personal journey, describing a deeply emotional and supportive family bond that shaped one of the most important decisions of her life.

In a recent interview she revealed that it was her son who played a key role in encouraging her third marriage while her mother held a completely opposite view and strongly opposed the idea.

Speaking during a discussion on a private TV drama serial “Kafeel”, Atiqa Odho said she felt a personal connection with the character “Subuk,” as it reminded her of experiences from her own life.

The actress shared that after the end of her second marriage and before her decision to marry Samer Ali Khan her son Bilal lovingly advised her not to remain alone.

According to her he encouraged her to embrace companionship again expressing confidence that Samer Ali Khan genuinely cared for her and would stand by her with respect and affection.

She added that while her mother viewed a third marriage as socially difficult to accept and was strongly against it her son showed a different kind of understanding and emotional maturity. He reassured her that he would support her decision and take responsibility for any concerns within the family.

Atiqa Odho described this moment as a reflection of a strong, loving bond between a mother and her son, saying it gave her strength to move forward despite hesitation and family differences.

The actress also reflected on her personal life journey, sharing that she was first married at the age of 15, a relationship that lasted nearly a decade. She later entered a second marriage by choice, which did not succeed.

After two unsuccessful marriages, she married Samer Ali Khan in June 2012, marking a new chapter in her life. Samer Ali Khan later served as a Member of the Sindh Assembly from 2013 to 2018.
