Adéla speaks out after her fan removes Rachel Chinouriri’s album promo posters in London

Adéla addressed the incident in an Instagram post, urging fans to respect other artists and their promotional efforts

Adéla has defended British singer-songwriter Rachel Chinouriri after a fan filmed themselves removing promotional posters for her upcoming album, I Think I Spoke Too Soon, in London.

The incident gained attention after a video shared by a since-deleted or suspended X account showed the fan tearing down Chinouriri’s posters to reveal advertising for Adéla’s single “Ain’t in LA”.

The album is scheduled for release on October 16, 2026.

Returning from a brief social media break, Adéla addressed the incident in an Instagram post, urging fans to respect other artists and their promotional efforts.

“Came across this way too late but u guys this is so f**king *ss,” she wrote. “Please don’t do this. Don’t take ppl’s posters down. Promotion costs money, Rachel’s posters cost money, they deserve to be up and seen.”

Adéla also highlighted the challenges faced by Black women in the music industry, adding that it is “alr hard enough to make sure ur art gets out there & is heard… ESPECIALLY as a Black woman.”

Chinouriri had also responded to the video on X, explaining the financial and personal investment behind her album campaign.

“Hey so this isn’t okay,” she wrote, describing the removal of her posters as hurtful after years of work building her career.

In a further response shared on her private TikTok account, Chinouriri clarified that fans were entitled to dislike her music but criticised the decision to destroy promotional material she had paid for.

The incident has prompted discussion about fan behaviour, respect between artists and the difficulties independent musicians face when promoting their work.

Both singers have highlighted the importance of allowing artists’ campaigns to reach audiences without interference.
