Adam Brody is expressing his regret for not making his wife Leighton Meester’s proposal a little more romantic.
The Nobody Wants This actor made a recent appearance on the Armchair Expert podcast on Monday and admitted that he popped the question to the Gossip Girl actress in a “very pedestrian” way.
“I’ll spare the details,” Adam began, “However, rest assured, it was not as romantic as it should have been.”
The O.C. alum continued, “The only thing romantic about it was the speed. I proposed pretty quickly into our relationship.”
He added, “We got married fast, but other than that, it was very pedestrian.”
When host Dax Shepard pushed Adam to spill more details, he refused.
Dax then inquired whether he got down on one knee at a fast-food restaurant, Adam replied, “At the time, you’re like, whatever, but you’re going to tell that story the rest of your life.”
“So, my advice,” Adam noted, “Do it, not even just for the moment, but for the story that you’re going to tell forever.”
The 46-year-old actor conlcuded that he should have put more efforts in his proposal, as his wife Leighton “deserved a little more”.
For those unversed, Leighton and Adam first met on the set of The Oranges in 2010. Two years later, they got engaged and tied the knot in 2014.
The couple are also parents to one daughter, 11, and a five-year-old son.
