LAHORE: From the cricket world to a family celebration, former Pakistan cricketer Aaqib Javed’s daughter, Uqba Aqib, has begun a new chapter in her life after tying the knot in the United Kingdom on Aug. 9, with her mother sharing glimpses of the celebration online.
Farzana Aqib, a poet and writer, shared wedding photographs on Facebook, offering prayers and best wishes to the newlyweds and both families. Uqba was seen wearing an elegant white sleeveless wedding gown, while the groom wore formal attire.
Uqba has a background in media and journalism. She graduated from the University of Sussex with a degree in Media and International Journalism.
Her father, Aaqib Javed, is a former Pakistan cricketer and national team head coach, while her mother is known for her contributions to English literature and poetry.
Farzana has authored nearly 70 books of English poetry and received several international literary honors. She also has more than 300,000 followers on Facebook and has written a book exploring Islamic history through English poetry.
Meanwhile, Pakistani actress Durefishan Saleem recently spoke about her preference for a simple Nikkah rather than a lavish wedding. She said she would prefer an intimate ceremony surrounded by close family and loved ones instead of multiple elaborate events.
