The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast that most parts of the country will experience cold and dry conditions in the coming days.

Mountainous areas are expected to face particularly frigid mornings and nights, with temperatures likely to drop further over the next two days.

Fog and smog are predicted in several plains and lowland areas during early morning and nighttime hours. Islamabad, the Potohar region, Kashmir, and the plains of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa may witness localized fog during these times.

In Kashmir, cold and dry weather will prevail, with extremely chilly mornings and nights. Gilgit-Baltistan is expected to remain extremely cold with partly cloudy skies in some areas.

Plains in Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, including Peshawar, Swabi, Mardan, and Dera Ismail Khan, may experience light to moderate fog and smog during mornings and nights.

Central Punjab districts including Sialkot, Narowal, Lahore, Sheikhupura, Gujranwala, Gujrat, Jhelum, Faisalabad, Jhang, Toba Tek Singh, Sahiwal, as well as southern Punjab regions like Multan, Khanewal, Layyah, Kot Addu, and Bahawalpur, are also likely to see fog and smog in early morning and nighttime hours.

Hill stations such as Murree and Galiyat will remain cold and dry. Southern and western provinces, including most districts of Sindh and Balochistan, will experience dry weather with cold nights and mornings.

Residents are advised to take necessary precautions during foggy and smoggy conditions, especially in early mornings and nights, and to stay alert in mountainous and lowland regions experiencing extreme cold.
