
LAKKI MARWAT: At least five children lost their lives and a dozen others were injured in a devastating explosion caused by an old shell in the Sarband area of Lakki Marwat.
According to the Medical Superintendent (MS), the shell detonated unexpectedly, resulting in the immediate death of the children.
Rescue teams rushed to the scene upon receiving the alert and swiftly transported the injured to the hospital for emergency medical treatment. The bodies of the deceased children were also moved to the hospital.
Authorities have launched an investigation to determine the origin of the unexploded ordnance and prevent future tragedies.
According to hospital officials, the children killed in the incident are between 2 and 7 years.
Earlier, six terrorists in a successful intelligence-based joint operation conducted by the Police and Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) in the Miryan area of Bannu.
According to officials, the operation targeted terrorist hideouts, which were completely destroyed during the assault. The action was part of an ongoing effort to dismantle militant networks in the region.
According to Regional Police Officer (RPO) Bannu Sajjad Khan, six terrorists have been killed in an operation since last night and said have been arrested in a critical condition.
