Megan Thee Stallion is reflecting on the end of her relationship with NBA player Klay Thompson, describing the split as “abrupt” and saying she is still processing what happened.
The Houston rapper discussed the breakup in her cover story with Marie Claire, published on Tuesday, September 29.
“It was so abrupt. I’m in shock still,” she admitted. “I’m not pretending I’m 100% okay. I ain’t never been through nothing like that in my whole life. I’ve never, ever, ever been in a relationship like that, ever. So I’m definitely not worried about another one for a long time.”
Megan also said she is currently focused on herself rather than pursuing another romance. “I’m not thinking about anything romantic,” she said.
Reflecting on her emotional state during the relationship, she added, “I feel like that’s what I was in, constantly on edge. My nervous system needed to calm down,” before saying, “I feel like I was in a panic 24/7. I’m still not eating all the way right. I’m feeling all the feelings. I’m not trying to take no shortcuts.”
Megan and Thompson went public with their relationship in July 2025 before splitting less than a year later.
Megan confirmed their separation in April and said trust and fidelity had been compromised. Thompson has not publicly addressed her allegations.
Megan is now concentrating on her music, including her upcoming Act: III album.
She also released the “Tina Tuesday Freestyle” and was announced as a performer at the 2026 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show.
