Javier Bardem has shared multiple Instagram Stories supporting a petition calling for Pink to be removed as a UNICEF ambassador, following controversy surrounding her response to Macklemore’s pro-Palestine message.
The 57-year-old No Country for Old Men actor re-shared posts on Monday, September 21, encouraging followers to sign the Change.org petition.

At the time of writing, it had amassed more than 161,000 verified signatures and remained open.
The petition criticises Pink’s comments about Macklemore’s “Free Palestine” message during Ed Sheeran’s concert tour, arguing that they conflict with the values expected of a UNICEF ambassador.
“Pink’s recent comments are not just unfortunate but also incompatible with the role of a UNICEF Ambassador—an individual expected to promote peace, understanding, and humanitarian values above personal biases,” the petition states.
It also calls on UNICEF to take “decisive action and remove Pink as an ambassador,” claiming the move would reaffirm the organisation’s commitment to impartiality and children’s rights.
Pink faced significant backlash after speaking out against Macklemore’s message.
She later shared memes, including one stating, “Being liked by everyone is a clown’s job,” before publishing a lengthy essay explaining her response.
The controversy comes amid changes to Ed Sheeran’s tour lineup.
Macklemore was removed following his pro-Palestine remarks, while other opening acts and members of Sheeran’s backing band also withdrew.
Sheeran later clarified that Macklemore’s removal was not his decision.
