Madonna took a spiritual journey.

According to Radar Online, the pop icon’s 68th birthday vacation was not only luxurious but also had a spiritual element as she went to Greece and visited ancient Eastern Orthodox religious sites along with her family and friends.

She reportedly travelled by a private jet to the Greek Island of Corfu and later headed to religious sites by a helicopter.

A source claimed that the trip held something deeper and meaningful than a simple vacation, “There has been a noticeable shift in what these occasions represent to Madonna. She still loves bringing together the people closest to her and creating something spectacular, but this birthday wasn’t simply about luxury, parties and celebrating another year. There was a much more contemplative side to the trip.”

Reflecting on the time when the Material Girl experienced health crisis in 2023, when she was placed in the ICU because of a serious bacterial infection, a source said, “Coming through such a serious health crisis three years ago forced her to confront her own mortality in a way she had never experienced before, and that has inevitably changed how she looks at life.”

Noting, “With 70 no longer feeling particularly distant, she is thinking much more deeply about where she has been, what she believes in, and what she wants the next chapter of her life to look like.”

“Her faith and spirituality have become increasingly important parts of that. The Greece trip allowed her to combine the extravagance people associate with Madonna with something intensely personal – taking time away from everything to reflect, reconnect spiritually, and appreciate simply being here. She has basically found God as she heads towards 70, and it’s understandable,” the source further revealed to the outlet.

Another insider added that the centuries old history and the religious significance were what drew the singer in. “She was fascinated by the history of the monasteries, the extraordinary landscape and the generations of religious devotion associated with the place, and she devoted several hours to understanding it all rather than simply flying in for photographs.”

“It was almost the opposite of everything else surrounding the birthday – away from the private jets, yacht, beautiful villa, and celebrations, this was an opportunity for Madonna to strip everything back, reflect on her faith, and spend time somewhere that has represented devotion and contemplation for centuries,” they further noted.

It is pertinent to mention that the legendary singer celebrated her 68th birthday on August 16, 1958 and is popularly known as the Queen of Pop.
