Olivia Rodrigo just gave fans the first live performance of her song Drop Dead during a special Spotify concert in Barcelona.
The singer was performing at Spotify’s Billions Club Live event on May 8 at the historic Teatre Grec venue, which took place just days before her collaboration with FC Barcelona for the club’s El Clásico match.
During the show, Rodrigo performed many of her biggest songs, including Drivers License, Good 4 U, and Vampire. She also sang Jealousy, Jealousy, Happier, Favorite Crime, and Get Him Back.
However, Drop Dead was one of the biggest moments of the night as Rodrigo performed the track solo in concert for the very first time.
On May 27, Spotify released Billions Club Live with Olivia Rodrigo: A Concert Film, which covered the full performance, with around 1,500 fans in attendance.
In footage from the concert, Rodrigo can be seen dancing across the stage while holding a bouquet during her performance of Drop Dead.
The 23-year-old singer now has nine songs with more than one billion streams on Spotify, making her one of the youngest artists to reach that milestone multiple times.
Before the Barcelona concert, Rodrigo had only performed Drop Dead once before as part of a surprise appearance at Coachella. She joined Addison Rae on stage in April to perform both Headphones On and Drop Dead.
Later that month, Rodrigo surprised fans again by performing the song at an open mic night at Pete’s Candy Store in New York City.
The singer is preparing to release her third studio album, You Seem Pretty Sad for a Girl So in Love, on June 12 through Geffen Records.
Earlier this year, Rodrigo told British Vogue that writing happier songs for the album was a creative challenge for her.
She explained that many of her favorite love songs still contain feelings of fear, sadness or longing, even when they are romantic.
Billions Club Live with Olivia Rodrigo: A Concert Film is streaming now.
